WFAeC Pilot Points  

With the huge increase in WFAeC membership, and fierce competition for the highest accolades, the Aero Club's Honours Subcommittee has been forced to announced the points scheme below.

The points are only awarded for attendees of official WFAeC events (expedition or trip), all pilots or flight-deck crew are eligible to apply. Despite an appeal from certain members of the club, there are no points awarded for 'intentions' (however 'honourable' they might be!)

 

Major Foreign Expedition 18 per trip
Add for each night over 5 nights 2 per night
For each night camping on above 3 per night
Minor foreign trip (day visit) 3 per trip
Each extra night 1 per night
Each night camping on above 2 per night
Major UK Expedition 5 per trip
Add for each night over 5 nights 1 per night
Add for each night camping 2 per night
Add if Scotland  2 per trip
Note: Camping points are additional to other points per night
 
Minor UK Trip (e.g. Popham, Spamfield, Staindrop)
IOW or similar 2 per trip
Each extra night 0.5 per night
Each night camping on above 1 per night
Acts of Heroism
Ditching in the channel/surviving 30 per event
Ditto but not surviving -10 "
Engine failure in Continental Europe
with non-airfield landing 10 per event
Ditto in England 3 "
Ditto in Scotland 5 "
Unauthorised Aerobatics
(to be witnessed)
Loop 10 per event
Loop started at 1500 feet or lower 15 "
Loop with crash (non fatal) 12 "
Loop with fatal crash -5 "
 
Note: Members with an negative overall score may be asked to leave the Aero Club, with right to appeal in person to the membership subcommittee.
